Our services

Absolute Driveways Ltd provide a variety of different finishes and offer expert advice on the range of different colour options available and many variations and colour combinations.

Plain concrete

Plain concrete is poured 100mm thick on a compacted AP40 gravel base and is finished with a sponge or broomed texture so there is no slip risk. All concrete will have expansion cuts put in on the day of pouring or within 24 hours to minimise the risk of cracking. You will need to refrain from driving on your driveway for at least 7 days.

Coloured Concrete

Coloured concrete is poured 100mm thick on a compacted AP40 gravel base and is finished with a sponge or broomed texture so there is no slip risk. It can be either sealed or left unsealed and can have a natural mottled effect with tonal variations. If sealed it will need to be resealed every 3-5 years. Expansion cuts will be put in either on the day of pouring or within 24 hours to minimise the risk of cracking. You will need to refrain from driving on your driveway for at least 7 days.

Exposed Aggregate

Exposed aggregate concrete is poured 100mm thick on a compacted AP40 gravel base. A retarde is spreyed on the trowelled surface and waterblaster the following day. This exposed surface reveals the natural textures of river stones and crushed quarry stones. Available in a range of stones and colour combinations can be added to change the appearance. This is later acid washed and sealed to complete the finish. It is recommended you avoid driving on your concrete for at least 7 days after pouring.

Asphalt

Laid on a minimum 250mm compacted gravel base in layers. Asphalt is laid 25mm thick and can be driven on after 24 hours. Asphalt will fade over time.
